Tips To Create An Effective Landing Page


We see a tremendous upshot in the relevance of website in the current scenario, especially when it comes to marketing and e-commerce. Well, when talking about a website, one primary matter is to create an interesting yet informing landing page. Now, from the name itself it's evident what’s the overall purpose of the page. In simple words, a landing page is any web page that a visitor can simply arrive at or land. 

A web page designer needs to focus on Technical aspects and Marketing Perspective while discerning on the layout, design, functional keys and content. 

TECHNICAL ASPECTS

i) Should be responsive

The web page must recognize the screen size and orientation of the gadget or device used by the user and should mend accordingly so as to be user-friendly.

ii) Use Meta Tags

A <meta> viewport element gives the browser instructions on how to control the page's dimensions and scaling.

The width=device-width part sets the width of the page to follow the screen-width of the device (which will vary depending on the device).

Meta keywords  are a specific type of meta tag that appears in the HTML code of a Web page and help tell search engines what the topic of the page is. When selecting or optimizing your meta keywords is to be sure that each keyword accurately reflects the content of your pages. 

iii) Brilliant design

The design is always the backbone of any website. Aesthetically arranging and implementing the core idea makes the design interesting, interactive and user-friendly. Right from the layout, colour and graphics to font, content and framework, every bit adds to its brilliance. The smarter you are in choosing colours, identifying images, applying animation and arranging content, more brilliant the website turns to be. 

iv)Must include callback sections

A strong platform to contact and interact is always the bridge that strengthens the authenticity and trustworthiness of the business you are into.   Greater the number of  contact platforms, the better. Phone numbers, email ids, direct linkage to social networking pages everything supports the credential.

vi) Browser compatibility

The capability or flexibility of a website to function on different web browsers like Google chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari etc highlights the efficiency of a web developer.

vii) Images should be optimized

Experts say image optimization is an art and science. An art because there is no definite and precise explanation or rule on how best to compress an individual image and a science because there are many well developed and specified algorithms and technicalities on how efficiently the size of an image be compressed. 

viii) All CSS files and JS files should be in minimized formats

We are in the midst of 21st century which is a fast moving world. People expect everything to happen within a  blink of an eye and same happens when they come across any website. If your website is consuming a little more of their time, there is a large probability that they would ignore and jump to other plots. 

This problem can be resolved by reducing or minimizing the number of files your website has to load, like HTML, CSS and Javascript. Minimize or remove every unnecessary file  that is many hinder easy loading of the site and slow down its smooth working. 

ix)Include .htaccess file

Create .htaccess file so that it will solve Leverage browser caching and hence improve the efficiency in the working of the website. 

x) User Experience

i) Should emphasize the specialties in a striking manner

Keep the text  brief, catchy and simple so that the users shall find it informing, interactive and time-consuming. The points to highlight the need to be emphasized in the right proportion to bring about the right sense of understanding.

ii)The Submit button of the callback forms can be made responsive

Submit button of the contact forms should make a feel of getting something to the customer

For eg. instead of submit we can give as submit and get a quote, get a callback etc will make a feel of get back something to the customer

iii)Design pattern and the specialties should coincide the customer’s needs

The overall framework, layout, design, images and content should draw the customer to us. When we perceive things from the customer’s point of view, it’s pretty easy to discern how to go about with the framework. The primary goal is to make sure that we could satisfy the customers and prompt them to contact us.

iv)Google Analytics

Analytics tracking will help us to understand about the traffic and conversions to our page. It would help you locate where your best users are located and help you have a better understanding on what people search on your website. It can even help you unveil the best content on your page and determine where the performance is low.
